TranScreen Festival is now accepting film submissions by, about and of interest to the Transgender and Gender Diverse (TGD) community and allies including family, friends and partners.
TranScreen envisions more positive and authentic representations of gender diversity and hopes to encourage dialogue and the sharing of stories between and across communities both locally and globally.

Of special interest for this year’s festival, (but not exclusively) we would especially welcome contributions regarding the following themes:

Sex work – Films bringing into focus the everyday life of sex workers from both a fiction point of view or documentaries on the subject.

Brazil – With Bolsonaro’s presidency in place, we want to focus on the lives of trans individuals and/or on the viewpoints of trans makers from this region.

Youtube/Family – Films that deal with online youth platforms such as Youtube, or that focus on trans experiences from a family context.

Refugees – Either documentaries or fictional films detailing the lives of trans refugees.

Furthermore, we particularly welcome feature length fiction films!

Contributions can be sent by filling in the form at
The submission deadline is Februari 1st 2019.
There is NO entry fee. You’ll receive notification whether your work is accepted for the festival as soon as possible.
